Quickstart

Create an API key and make your first call.

Create a key

In Ingenee, open Settings → Organisation → API keys and click Create key. You need to be an organisation admin.

  • Name it after the system that will use it, for example CMS sync.
  • Choose a role. The key never does more than this role allows. Programmer suits most integrations.
  • Tick the scopes it needs. For this quickstart, Library → Read is enough.

Copy the key when it appears. It starts with ik_live_ and is shown once.

Store it as a secret

export INGENEE_API_KEY="ik_live_…"

Treat the key like a password: keep it on your server, not in a browser or mobile app.
